Protecting Our Environment
I was among the first mayors in NC and the U.S. to sign the US Conference of Mayors Climate Protection Agreement. It is the intent of this agreement to develop programs to reduce carbon emissions. I have supported and will continue to support in a fiscally responsible way those programs which will lead to the reduction of carbon emissions in our city.

I consider it an honor to have been given the privilege to be mayor of this city. We've made Durham a safer place for our children, a more fruitful place for business, and a wonderful, creative, diverse home for families. I want to continue that work.
